Of course we stopped for the mandatory border crossing stop.
The drive was easy enough and sealed most of the way, with only some short stretches of gravel. we were going to stop and maybe camp at the dig tree which is 70 kilometers East of Innamincka but missed the turn off so headed into Innamincka itself.
Turns out the sign to the Dig Tree is not right on the road, but down the track a wee bit.
It was at our border stop that we noticed our first bit of damage to the trailer, it just would not be a Troisi holiday if something didn't break !
While checking the car and trailer as I do at every stop I noticed water leaking from the trailer water tank, at first i thought it was just that a rock had hit the tap on the drain pipe and pushed it around to the open position, so I turned it back and we headed off it later on realised that there was more to it.
Arriving in town we stopped at the store to ask about camping and go some directions and a mud map, I also bought twenty litres of water in case our water tank ran dry before I could sort it out.
Turns out there is nowhere in Innamincka to fill your tanks if you run out of water.
It was after 1500 when we got to the river and it took us a far while to find a suitable site for the camper, most of the sites close to the river that were flat enough where already taken.
we settled on a spot in the Town Common fairly close to another family hoping that they would be nice neighbors.

While setting up we met Dean, one of the neighbors, he seemed friendly but we did not really talk too much at that time.
Easy dinner, a campfire, and an early night tonight, so far Innamincka is nice.
