Previous Adventures

Over the last four years we have traveled around some amazing places in Australia, we have done three major trips over the mid year school holidays, taking an extra week either side of the term break.

We have aimed to make our trips as adventurous as possible travelling the lesser used roads where possible and staying in as many outback towns as we could, this has led us to some remote and amazing places. It has also caused us a few problems in regards to equipment damage, but we have learnt many lessons which have helped us prepare for future trips.

2012
Uluru
In June/July 2012 we traveled to Central Australia, the route took us through central Queensland and into NT via the infamous Plenty Hwy, not sure the term Hwy really describes the road well.
In Central Australia we saw all the iconic place such as Uluru, Kings Canyon, The Olga's,, etc etc, we also traveled the Mereenie Loop seeing some amazing Gorges along the way.

2013
Darwin Sunset
In June/July 2013 we traveled to Darwin, North through Queensland then West along the "The Great Top Road" which hugs the Gulf travelling through some diverse and amazing country.
Darwin was an amazing place, i wish we had more time there as there is so much to see and do.

2014
We Made It To The Tip Of Australia
In June/July we traveled to one of the most iconic places in our great country, Cape York.
Directly north from where we live, a long but easy drive on good roads for most of the way, its not until you reach Cape York that things get interesting, the main road known as the PDR is long and extremely corrugated at times.
Or the more adventurous route, the OTT, a track that is not maintained, has numerous deep and difficult creek crossings.
We did the PDR up, and part of the OTT on the way back down, the Cape has a great deal to offer and is a must see if you love the Australian outback.

During our travels over the last few years we saw too many great places to mention them all here, the Blogs we did for all the trips were on My ExplorOz Blogs and if you use the links provided you can see the trips in a bit more detail.
Keep in mind that the posts on ExplorOz.com are in reverse order, so most recent at the top of the list, also the blogs are not separated, its just one list of posts.
