| Pelicans on the Cooper Creek |
Some of the local wildlife was also out enjoying the sun and looking for a feed.
We had a pair of magnificent Pelicans cruising up and down the creek right in front of our campsite, They seemed to move in unison dipping their heads into the water at exactly the same time as they scooped up food they were looking for.

Also out looking for a drink and feed was a Dingo, it was not very healthy looking with large patches of fur missing, it was not at all worried by our presence, it had a drink and after some time it moved away.
During breakfast we met the family next door, Jodi, Dean and their daughter Taz, they are from Melbourne and have been travelling the outback with other family over the last couple of weeks and were on there own now for a little while before meeting up with family and heading home.
Bush Repairs, the water leak on the trailer turned out to be a cracked poly elbow that goes into the tank for filling, unfortunately it is located half way up the side of the tank so we had a fair bit of water leak out, I tried to fix the elbow with some two part putty I had and it worked to a certain degree but didn't stop the leak altogether, I'l give it another go at our next stop.
We spent the rest of the day around the camp on the creek chatting and watching the kids having fun on the canoe.

After a few afternoon drinks we decided that we would go to the Innaminck Pub/restaurant for dinner, it's about a 20 min walk along the dusty road from the camp.
The restaurant is really nice and serves a wide range of food at pretty reasonable prices, tonight was Roast night, $30.00 per adult and $13.00 per child, the meals were delicious and huge, the only difference between the kids and adult meal was that the adults got a second type of meat.
| Traveling companions for a couple of days |
After dinner we walked back to camp, lucky Jodi had brought a torch along as it was pitch black,
Another change of course for us, we had intended to go from Innamincka straight down the Strezleki after making a visit to The Dig Tree which is 70 Kl out of town, but during the course of the day we decided to stay with our new friends and go to Tibooburra in NSW, stay with them for a night and then we would part ways and we would go from there to Cameron Corner and on to the Strezleki track.
All in all our visit to Cameron Corner was great, it's nice on the river and very inexpensive, $5.00 per vehicle, the pub is great and there are coin operated showers located there ($3.00).
I think this is a better choice for camping than at the Dig Tree which is 70 Kl east out of town.
Fuel at Innamincka was $1.80 per litre.
Make sure you have plenty of water before you get there though.
Tomorrow we head south into NSW after a visit to the Dig Tree.
