| The road ahead. |
Driving along we saw an enormous number of feral goats, the majority being very young kids, it must be good conditions for them out here, lots of Emu too, which appear to have less road sense than the goats resulting in a couple of near misses.
Eulo
We stopped in at the small town of Eulo which is just before the turnoff to the NP, its a tiny little town with only a couple of shops and a few houses.
There you will find an Historical museum of sorts ( gold coin donation), which is worth a look, there is also an Opal shop, and a general store which sells fuel ($1.65 per litre).
We got a coffee and some small supplies at the store and the coffee was surprisingly really nice.

Heading West just out of town is the tun off to Hungerford and Currawinya NP, the road is tar for a very short way then becomes a well maintained gravel/red dirt road, it was a bit wet in places and the gravel surface was very loos in spots too, but all inall a pretty good road.
We travelled the 60 odd kilometers to the turnoff to the Caiwarro Waterhole which is first camp ground you come to.
The road in to the small information booth was a bit wet but passable, from there it got a bit hairy, we headed in towards one of the four sections and soon found ourselves slipping and sliding, spraying mud all over the camper, and making very little headway.
We only just made it to the first spot without having to do a winch recovery, once at the first spot we could see that the river had been pretty high, the banks wet and muddy quite a few meters from the waters edge.
We decided to not risk going any further in or getting rained in so we engaged 4X4 Low and slowly made our way out again.
We did have a look at some ruins there which were in a drier area, they were pretty interesting.
Getting back out onto the formed road we stopped for lunch and decided that we would head into Thargomindah instead.
We arrived at Thargominda and booked into the CP therefor a couple of nights, tomorrow we will do explore the area.
Pics look awesome and great detail on the blogs.
