First stop at Maccas in Toowoomba where we met up with the Hughes family who would be joining us at St George for the first three nights of our trip, our boys did not know that their cousins wouldbe joining us and they were very surprised and excited to see them.
The drive from Toowoomba to St George was easy and uneventful, the DMax went well hauling the load with no trouble and the fuel economy so far seemed very good.
The Kupunda Fishing Park in St George was our first stop where we will stay for three nights, first impressions were not so good, the price was a little much I thought at $48.00 for 2A & 2C, it was a powered site on the river but the ground was a bit rocky and it was a fau walk to the toilets which had only two unisex toilets and one shower.
We spent the day fishing and relaxing by the river, an easy dinner a few beers and wines and an early night, in bed by 7.30pm for me.
Our spot by the river.
The boys as always enjoying the open fire.
Very Peaceful on the river.
Tomorrow we will head into St George for a look, they tell me the Emu Egg carving is worth a look.
I have to say i'm finding it a little hard to slow down, Im so used to being on a bit of a timetable its hard to get out of that mindset, maybe a few beers will help !
