Canarvon
At Canarvon we stayed at the Top Tourist Park caravan park, its the furthest out of town but reports from others who had stayed there were all positive, we had only planned to stay three nights but new friends arrived the day before we were to leave so we stayed on a bit longer.
Not sure if Canarvon is the best choice to stay in the area but it was OK, there is a little bit to see and do here but 2-3 night would definitely cover it.
The One Mile Jetty

The jetty once had a steam locomotive run up and down the jetty but that stopped running in the 1950's.
Normally you would be able to take a ride up the jetty in a small tram but that was not operating when we were there, we walked the length of the jetty which was good, but you need to watch your step as there a lots of trip hazards, there is a charge of $5.00 per adult to walk the jetty.

I don't think it currently lives up to the brochures description as its partially closed due to fires, and the tram is not running, the lighthouse keepers house and small museum there are pretty good to see.
There is also a nice cafe there to have a drink and rest after the walk along the jetty.
The Fruit Loop
There is a nice drive along the South River road and back along the North River drive where you can stop in at various plantations for fresh fruit and veggies, we stopped at Bumbacks Plantation and picked up some delicious natural fruit ice creams, and chutney.
The Canarvon Space And technology Museum
The Canarvon Space and Technology museum highlights the role tat Canarvon played in the manned space program, and the Australian communications history. There are two parts to the museum, the "Canarvon Tracking Station" and the "OTC Satellite Earth Station", its out of town about 6 kilometers.
We found the museum very interesting, as did the boys who also had a bit of fun there playing on the old control panels and simulators, it's well worth a look and the entry fee was small.

There is a camp ground there located pretty much on the beach where at the right tide the snorkeling would be pretty good.

Canarvon was a pretty good stay, and the caravan park was really good, it was also great to catch up with the Barbeler's, a family we had met on our travels.
